Snout

Terms of Use

Effective July 25, 2026

Snout scores dog foods and flags ingredients that may be a problem for your dog. By using Snout you agree to what follows.

Snout is not veterinary advice. Everything in the app is general information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Your vet knows your dog; we know labels. Talk to a vet before changing your dog’s diet, and call one immediately if your dog has eaten something dangerous or is unwell.

Where our information comes from

Scores are computed from published ingredient lists and guaranteed analyses. Recalls come from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Manufacturers change recipes without notice, labels are sometimes printed wrong, and our own data can be out of date or mistaken. Always read the bag in your hand — it is the authority, not us.

If you find something wrong, use “Request a review of this product” on any product page. We read every one.

Contributed products

If you photograph a label for a product we don’t have, the ingredients you contribute are added to our catalog and shown to other people. Contribute only what is actually printed on the bag. Contributions are recorded against your account so mistakes can be traced and corrected.

Snout Plus

Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.

Manage or cancel any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Safety information is free and always will be. Plus buys convenience — full history, complete rails, saved collections — never a safer answer.

Acceptable use

Don’t scrape the catalog, resell the data, or use Snout to build a competing database. Don’t try to break the app or the service behind it.

Liability

Snout is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including decisions made about what to feed your dog. Some places don’t allow that limit, in which case it applies as far as it legally can.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use Snout after a change means you accept it.
